Research And Development
L&L Armor's R&D department is at the center of creation and implementation of new materials, products and processes. Our highly trained personnel combined with state of the art laboratory equipment allow us to apply science to our armoring methodologies resulting in superior product performance. An overview of our capabilities is listed below:
- Laboratory Processing: Compression molding, injection molding, twin screw extrusion, material mixing and compounding.
- Analytical: Thermal Characterization (DSC/TMA/TGA), Morphology Characterization, Rheological Characterization, including Dynamical Mechanical Analysis, and Chemical Characterization including Infrared Spectoscopy, X-Ray Fluorescence and Gas, Liquid, and Gel Permeation Chromatography.
- Physical Properties: Tensile, Shear, Compression and Flexural Strength, Dynamic Mechanical Analysis, Quasi-static Punch Shear Testing, and Environmental Testing.
From new formulations, prototype trial runs, physical testing and material analysis to small quantity production, L&L's R&D department is setting a new pace in innovation and progress in the composite armor field.
