At L&L Armor Systems, we have made a significant, internally funded, development effort to improve armor technology utilizing our scientific and engineering competencies. At less than half the weight of comparable steel armor (7.62 AP at muzzle), composite armor offers advantages in installation, corrosion, vehicle handling and speed vs. steel armor as well as reduced stress due to added weight on vehicle sub-systems such as transmissions, engines, tires, axles, etc. resulting in improved vehicle reliability, maintainability, transportability and safety for the vehicle operators.
